The Rev. Robert P. Avers

The Rev. Robert Paul Avers, 79, of Bluffton, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville.

He was born July 18, 1933, in Cleveland, to the late Paul H. and Melba L. (Zerger) Avers. He married Joanne Emma Ferkel Aug. 20, 1955, and she survives.

Also surviving are four children, Mark (Laura) Avers of Colorado Springs, Colo., Deborah S. (R. Kevin) Mohr of Bluffton, Dianne R. (James) Dannemiller of Westerville and Sharon L. (Robert) Arnold of Uniontown, Pa.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, the Rev. James W. (Linda) Avers of Fremont.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde.

His funeral is 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Forest Street, Clyde, with one hour of visitation prior. The Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell will officiate. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.

Memorials may be made to Sandusky County Habitat for Humanity or Seneca County Habitat for Humanity.
