GIRLS JV BASKETBALL: Margaretta turned away New Riegel 46-40, thanks to Kylie Dickman's 14 points. Ruthann Schreiner scored 12 points for New Riegel, and Hailey Theis, Lauren Zoeller and Elizabeth Zoeller each netted eight.
n Carey (4-1) beat St. Wendelin, 27-15. Shelby Kin had seven points in the victory while Abby Hall and Mary Jo Bash each contributed six. Sicily Leiter and Meghan Reiter each had five for the Mohawks.
n Calvert topped Seneca East 49-38 behind 18 points from Taylor Ritzler and 11 from Lindsay Bickley. Seina Adachi had a game-high 23 points for Seneca East.
n Rossford defeated Fostoria 39-29.
n Mohawk topped Lakota 35-23. Megan Cleveland led the Warriors with nine points. Brooke Weinandy added seven.

OLD FORT HALL OF FAME: John and Jane Willis will be inducted into the Old Fort Athletic Hall of Fame Friday between the JV and varsity basketball games. A reception will follow the games.
GOLF: Paul R. Fey, Dick Hiser and Tom Holz shot 1-over par to win Thursday's Retirees League at Seneca Hills. Greg Bishop was closest to the pin on No. 18 and Howard Tiell had the long putt on No. 17.
SOFTBALL: Tiffin University softball's spring hitting league is Jan. 27, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10 at TU's indoor batting cages at the Hanson Physical Fitness Center on Miami Street. Athletes in grades 4-7 will go from 4-5:15 p.m. Athletes in grades 8-12 will go from 5:30-7 p.m. Each age group is limited to 28 athletes. There will be hitting instruction followed by a hitting competition with team and individual scoring systems. Form a team of four, or sign up as an individual and be put on a team.
