Members of SIEDC gave a summary of announced projects for Seneca County in 2012 at a Law and Community Planning committee meeting Wednesday evening.

Rich Focht, president and CEO of SIEDC, highlighted several companies in the county expanding and adding jobs.

"There's a lot of good things going on in the community," Focht said.

Toledo Molding & Die has added 75 new jobs, while retaining 390 employees. Taiho Corporation has added 45 new jobs and 40,000 square feet, while retaining 110 employees, he said.

Laminate Technologies and Arnold Machine have added 10 jobs each, and made additions of 25,000 square feet and 15,000 square feet, respectively.

American Fine Sinter retained 130 employees and made a 30,000-square-foot addition.

Seneca County also added new retail businesses including Rural King and Advanced Auto and six downtown businesses.

Mayor Aaron Montz complimented Focht and SIEDC on the job they have done, helping the county expand business in the past year. Montz said a "majority" of factories in Tiffin are hiring.

"It makes me feel good," he said. "We got something going right, here in Tiffin."
