David Schaefer, 67, of Bellevue, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 3, 1945, in Bellevue, to William V. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Moyer) Schaefer. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He married Carol C. (Blake) Schaefer June 17, 1967, at Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, and she preceded him in death Oct. 5, 2007.
Survivors include a son, Matt Schaefer of Bellevue; daughter, Kristen (Ben) Stoll of North Fairfield; eight grandchildren; one brother, Stephen (Linda) Schaefer of Bellevue; two sisters, Jane (Kirk) Horn of Bellevue and Cynthia (Frank) DeLuca of Huron; a sister-in-law, Carol Schaefer of Youngwood, Pa.; and special friend, Diane Streeter of Bellevue.
He also was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Schaefer.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. The rosary will be recited Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The family encourages friends to wear Ohio State attire.
His funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery, Bellevue.
