Marcele "Marcie" M. (Foos) Burns, 78, of Fostoria, passed away at 11:50 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.
She was born May 12, 1934, in Sandusky County to the late Herman and Helen (Widman) Foos. She married Raymond G. Burns on May 7, 1955, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Gibsonburg, and he survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are her children, Ronald (Evelyn) Burns, Tiffin, Teresa (William) Faeth, Fostoria, Todd (Amy) Burns, Fostoria, Timothy (Margie) Burns, Fostoria, Christopher (Shelley) Burns, Upper Arlington, and Jeffrey (Marlene) Burns, Fostoria; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nine brothers and sisters, Norma Vossberg, Inverness, Fla., Marleen (Jack) Henline, Gibsonburg, Bernadine Kirwen, Gibsonburg, Mildred (Roger) Brickner, Tiffin, Jenny (Jeffrey) Babione, Columbus, Robert (Shirley) Foos, Waterville, Herbert (Carol) Foos, Fremont, Howard (Helen) Foos, Fremont, and Ken (Judy) Foos, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Foos; and a sister, Eileen Willer.
Marcele worked at the Rossford Ordinance for three years, and became a homemaker after she was married. She enjoyed her family very much, especially family get-togethers, and loved to travel. She was an avid follower and cheerleader of her children's and grandchildren's school and sporting events.
She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, lifetime member of the Circle of Mercy, belonged to the Rosary Altar Society, St. Wendelin Memorial Choir, the Loudon Twp. Garden Club and the Red Hats Club. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Bureau of Concern and DayBreak of Fostoria Inc.
Faith, family and friends guided Marcele's life. Marcele and Ray were honored the 2011 Seneca County Family Children First Council Award as "Distinguished Youth Asset Builders."
Visitation is from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria.
Mass of Christian burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery.
