Roger W. Dunham, 78, of Rockford, Ill., and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at his residence.
Roger was born Nov. 10, 1934, in Concord, to Emerson L. and Dorothy R. (Wilson) Dunham. He married Gladys (Stride) in Illinois and she preceded him in death in 2000.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Cheveres of Illinois; his stepson, Kyle Allen (Deann) of Illinois; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hilda Zouhar of Montana and Carol Jean (Tom) Snyder of Tiffin.
Roger was a graduate of Barrington High School, Barrington, Ill. He went on to proudly serve his country as a United States Marine. Roger carried his Marine values into the workplace and retired after a successful career in insulation.
Roger also was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Wills; brother, Eugene Dunham; and two sisters, Dorothy Leaver and Anna Belle Schrom.
Roger had a passion for many things. He had a love of all sports and was an avid tennis player and golfer. He thoroughly enjoyed cooking, playing cards, crossword puzzles, music and spending time with family.
His memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, Tiffin, with Kevin Snyder officiating.
There will be no visitation at this time.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mutual Cemetery, Mutual.
