I have seven grandchildren who live in the Republic and Tiffin area. Of those seven, four attend area schools. The only grandchild to participate in a Christmas program is a preschooler who attends St. Joe's preschool. The program was beautiful! She enjoyed doing it and I enjoyed watching it.
Of the remaining school-age grandchildren, one attends the Tiffin City Schools system and two attend Seneca East School. There was no Christmas program whatsoever at these schools. What a huge disappointment! The kids experienced no participation at all in a holiday presentation and in my opinion missed out on a large part of the celebration of the Christmas season. I missed out on the joy and pride of watching them perform.
These schools are so excessively PC that they deprive the children, the families and the community of something really wonderful. Again, what a huge disappointment! And might I add a huge lack of backbone on the part of school principals, board members and superintendents to allow these programs to disappear!
