FOSTORIA - St. Wendelin rallied from a six-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to force overtime, and kept on rallying from there Thursday to beat Mohawk 70-67 and claim its first Midland Athletic League win.
Mohawk (6-3, 2-2 MAL) entered the fourth leading 43-37, but the Mohawks forged a tie at 58 over the next eight minutes and outscored the Warriors 12-9 in the extra period.
Heather Saalman's 24 points led St. Wendelin (4-5, 1-3) and Colleen Fondessy had 13 points and eight rebounds. Kamryn Troike added 11 points and Ali Rutter dished four assists.
Mohawk got a game-high 29 points from Julie Adelsperger, along with six rebounds. Lynsey Trusty tossed in 15 points and Kasey Adelsperger added 13. Trusty also had five assists.
SE rallies past North?Baltimore
ATTICA - Seneca East stormed past North Baltimore 23-12 in the fourth quarter Thursday to turn a seven-point deficit into a 57-53 Midland Athletic League win.
Ashton Daniel popped in 10 of her game-high 21 points in the final period to lead the hometown Tigers (6-2, 3-1 MAL).
Laura Sprenger and Seina Adachi each added eight points and Daniel hauled in six rebounds.
Ricci Emahiser's 19 points and eight boards paced North Baltimore (3-5, 1-2). Megan Wright scored 10 points.
Stockaders falter in fourth
DOLA - Old Fort looked to have the game in hand after the third quarter quarter, but Hardin Northern caught fire from there Thursday to erase a 12-point deficit and claim a 36-32 victory.
The Polar Bears trailed 30-18 with eight minutes to go, but doubled their score while clamping down on Old Fort to get the win.
Chelsey DeLong netted 11 of her game-high 19 points in the final quarter for Hardin Northern. Brooklyn Watts backed her with 12 points.
Sam Hartsel's nine points and seven rebounds topped the Stockaders.
Redmen tripped by Ross
FREMONT - Jada Hampton's 21 points weren't enough for Fostoria Thursday, as it fell to Ross in Fremont, 53-40.
The Redmen turned the ball over 29 times in the loss, and struggled at the foul line, making just 11 of 24 foul shots.
Erica Moore had nine points for Fostoria.
