A Tiffin man facing numerous sex-related charges appeared in court Thursday morning for an arraignment.
Johnathon A. Smith, 19, appeared in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff's courtroom where he entered a plea of not guilty to four counts of gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony, one count of rape, a first-degree felony, and one count of sexual imposition, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Last week, Smith was found competent to stand trial, according to court documents. The competency exam had been ordered by the court in September.

Smith was arrested in July after allegedly sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy in the backyard of a South Bon Air Avenue residence.
