A fire that originated from a baseboard heater damaged a Peeler Drive apartment early Thursday morning.
Fostoria Fire Chief Keith Loreno said the fire, reported around 2:45 a.m. by a neighbor of 1205 Peeler Drive, Apt. E, primarily caused smoke damage and carpet damage to the apartment. He estimated the damage to be $5,000.
Loreno said the apartment was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and firefighters had to force entry into the residence.
He said there was no indication of criminal
intent.
