BASCOM - Hopewell-Loudon jumped out to a 29-13 halftime head over Gibsonburg, and then for good measure closed out the Golden Bears with a 23-7 fourth quarter, adding up to a 64-32 Chieftain win.
Danielle Rohrbach had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. She was one of four Chieftains scoring in double figures. Aleta Daniel had 14 points, Lauren Trumpler tallied 13 and Cassandra Hohman chipped in 10.
Daniel also picked up six steals and Courtney Burns dished out six assists as Hopewell-Loudon improved to 8-6.
Amanda Shammo led Gibsonburg with 12.
Mohawks get defensive in win
FOSTORIA - St. Wendelin held Northwood to just five first half points as it cruised to a 44-24 win over the Rangers.
St. Wendelin (8-7) forced Northwood into 26 turnovers and held it to a 24 percent (10 for 41) shooting night.
Colleen Fondessy led the Mohawks with 18 points while also collecting eight rebounds. Kamryn Troike pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. Sicily Leiter and Allie Rutter each had five steals.
Margaretta tames Tigers
ATTICA - Margaretta took a one-point lead over Seneca East into the fourth quarter, then held off the Tigers down the stretch to score a 57-55 victory. Seneca East jumped out to a 15-10 lead after one quarter, but the Polar Bears froze out the Tigers in the second, overtaking the Tigers for a 26-21 halftime advantage before holding them off in the second half.
Ashton Daniel led Seneca East (9-5) with 17 points. Lauren Sprenger added 12 while Hannah Hahler had a game-high 10 rebounds.
Only five Polar Bears scored in the game, but three hit double figures with Kelsey Kromer's 22 points leading everyone. She had 10 in the decisive fourth quarter. Kendra Gast added 19 points and Kyloe Dickman tallied 10.
Smooth night for Santoro
BELLEVUE - Carly Santoro popped in 29 points as Bellevue pulled away from Upper Sandusky 56-47 Tuesday in North Central Conference play.
Santoro tossed in 11 points in the first quarter to help the Redmen claim a 20-19 lead at the first stop.
Bellevue doubled up the Rams 24-12 over the next two periods to gain control.
Taylor Graboski's 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks led Upper Sandusky. Amber Cox and Jorden Born each added 12 points, with Born snaring eight boards. Allison Snyder dished eight assists.
L-B gets around Carey
FINDLAY - Liberty-Benton powered past Carey in the second half Tuesday to forge a 46-38 win.
Foul shots played a big role, with Carey going 6 for 8 while the Eagles (10-3) ended 18 for 23.
Ali Rymer's 13 points led the Blue Devils (12-2) in the loss, but none of her teammates scored more than six points.
Carey led 18-17 at halftime before L-B pulled away.
BC scores conference win
NEW WASHINGTON -Sammi Marcum scored 13 points, and Buckeye Central had three players score in double figures in a 57-22 North Central Conference win over Crestline.
Sierra Hanes had 10 points for the Buckettes (3-10, 3-2), while Brooke Karl also scored 10. Emily Weithman had seven points, six rebounds in the win.
Buckeye Central led 21-16 at the break, then held the Bulldogs to six points in the second half, no points in the fourth quarter.
