We would not be a bit upset buying a license for our cat while getting one for our dog, and we are sure we speak for most responsible cat owners everywhere.
Any suggestions as to how to license all the cats that roam our streets, cold, hungry and unloved, which heartless people have thrown out? (Now that, sir, upsets us!)
The 102 cats being housed at our Humane Society are a few of the lucky ones, for now. It's irresponsible people who cause the shelters to be overloaded. If merely purchasing a license would prevent some of that, then you can bet we're all for it!
Thank you for allowing us to vent!

P.S. This is for the heartless person who threw away the cat we took in. He is magnificent! Your loss!
