Arthur C. Hall, formerly of Republic, died peacefully Jan. 14, 2013, at the Residences at Thomas Circle Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Washington, DC.
Art was born in Republic April 29, 1925, and graduated from Republic High School in 1943.
He married Lesta Zeiter in September 1945, and they were married for 63 years until her death in 2008.
Surviving family members include his son, Greg (Gee Soo) of Washington, D.C.; brother, Dale of Tiffin; and two granddaughters, Bridget (David) of Alexandria, Va., and Shereen of Washington, DC.
Art was preceded in death by his father, Allen (Jan. 1978); brother, Wayne (July 1989); mother, Enid (Baugher) (Dec. 1995); and his wife Lesta (May 2008).
Art worked as a lathe operator at Tiffin Machine for many years before deciding to farm full time. He lived and worked on their farm on Coe Road in Republic for 54 years until March 2008 when Lesta and he moved to the Washington, DC area to live with their son and daughter-in-law due to Lesta's failing health.
Kind and jovial, he touched many lives and will be sincerely missed by his family and by the residences and staff of Thomas Circle.
A memorial service will be held at the Baseline Church in Bloomville at a future date.
