Joan E. Gilsdorf, 89, a former Tiffin resident, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Sunset Village, Sylvania.
Prior to her marriage, Joan was employed as a registered nurse at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. Over the years Joan made, by hand, thousands of rosaries that were sent to missions around the world.
Joan is survived by her husband of more than 63 years, Vernon Gilsdorf; two daughters, Mary (Michael) Donald and Joan (Timothy) Parlette; five sons, Michael (Joan), John, Patrick, Thomas (Rebecca) and Richard (Mary) Gilsdorf; nine grandchildren; sister, Jane (Bud) Thiel; brother, Norbert Gabringer; and sister-in-law, Betty Gabringer.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Paul Gabringer.
Her funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania, where family and friends may gather one hour prior.
Joan will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
