The Advertiser-Tribune

A 15-year-old girl was rescued from the mid-block overpass Sunday evening after she became stuck on the outside of the fence.

According to a release from Fostoria Police Department, an officer had observed the girl on the overpass around 5 p.m.

Traffic then was blocked and police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene.

According to the release, police had talked to the girl in an attempt to get her off of the ledge, but their attempts failed. A harness secured to a steel pole was put on the girl by police and firefighters to safely remove her from the ledge.

She then was taken to Fostoria Community Hospital to be evaluated.
