Richard James Williams, 83, of Tiffin, died at 7:09 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Salisbury, Md., to Lawrence and Ella (Bailey) Williams. He married Betty Roberts Feb. 13, 1953, in Cambridge, Md., and she survives.
Other survivors include a son, Richard A. (Melody) Williams of Tiffin; two daughters, JoAnn (David) King and Kathy (Chris) Elchert, both of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Chris (Mikki) King, Brian (Chrystal) King and Kacie and Caden Elchert; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Brandon King and Austin King.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Williams; and a sister, Helen Ege.
Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1948-1952. He then moved to Tiffin in 1961 to manage The Ritz Theatre. In 1994, he retired from Seneca County.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-3113.
His funeral will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Captain Kevin Zanders officiating. The United Veterans Council of Seneca County will perform military rites at the funeral home.
