James Lee "Jimmy" Gatchell, 20, of Harpster, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, as a result of a fire at his residence.
He was born May 2, 1992, in Upper Sandusky, son of James Gatchell and Marva Clay Morrison. His father and stepmother, Karie, survive in Findlay. His mother survives in Harpster.
Jimmy also is survived by a twin sister, Kelly Gatchell of Upper Sandusky, and other siblings, Lucas Cheney of Findlay, Gunner Morrison of Harpster and Makenna Gatchell, Aislinn Gatchell and Kaleb Gatchell, all of Findlay; a niece Emma Cox of Upper Sandusky; paternal grandparents, James and Linda Gatchell of Carey; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Louella Clay of Harpster; and stepgrandparents. David and Kaye Davis of Findlay.
He was preceded in death by a niece, Alainna Cox, and an uncle, George Bjorling.
He was a 2010 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and Sentinel Career Center, Tiffin. He was a member of Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation Church, Carey.
Jimmy was a laborer at Guardian Industries, Upper Sandusky the past two years. He loved his family. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed relaxing with his friends and playing video games. He was the world's best hugger.
Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
His Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation Church, Carey, with the Rev. John Stowe OFM Conv. officiating. Interment will follow at Little Sandusky Cemetery, near Harpster.
