The new SCAT building is nearly completed and employees are expected to move into it by the end of the month, director Larry Baxa said.
There is still some minor work that needs to be done, such as interior door locks. The new building was funded by grants from Ohio Department of Transportation's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
"It's very nice. I've had a number of contractors, and they've all commented how nice the building turned out," Baxa said. "We're definitely anxious to get in and get to work over there."
SCAT shares a county-owned building with other organizations and programs. The new building will only be used by SCAT, Baxa said.
The new building will provide employees with more room. The new setup will provide them with separate offices for reception, dispatchers, accounts receivable and accounts payable, Baxa said.
The new building also will have a 12,000-square-foot garage, which will hold up to 20 vehicles, he said. SCAT has 26 vehicles; 19 or 20 are in Tiffin and the rest in Fostoria.
The vehicles at the current SCAT building are outside in the parking lot, and he said having the garage will be good for the vehicles.
The new building is located on CR 151, past the Jobs and Families Services building.
