Ohio 2013-14 fishing, hunting and trapping licenses are available for purchase, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Licenses are valid immediately upon purchase and through Feb. 28, 2014.
White-tailed deer and fall wild turkey hunting permits go on sale June 1.
New this year, licenses include a transaction receipt and effective dates that match the fishing, hunting or trapping season.
They can be purchased online at www.wildohio.com and at hundreds of agent outlets throughout the state.
A list of license sales
agents can be found at the website.
Each buyer must have a Social Security number recorded in the system. However, people who purchased licenses last year now can use their customer ID number in place of an SSN.
SSNs are required to purchase a recreational license, regardless of age, for the purpose of child support collection enforcement.
As a recreational license provider, the Division of Wildlife cannot issue a license or permit without the SSN of the purchaser. A proper security system is in place to protect SSNs and any databases that contain them.
