Grace L. Williams Spino

Grace L. Williams Spino, 96, of Norwalk, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Fisher Titus Medical Center.

She was born April 21, 1916, in Tiffin, to the late Glen L. and Marcia Ellen (Fox) Williams Sr. She was raised in Tiffin, moved to Sandusky when she was 18 and went to Norwalk in 1948.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she was a member of Altar Guild and Christian Women's Club, and she was former chairwoman of the Sunshine Committee.

Grace was a former volunteer at Fisher Titus Hospital and had been a hostess at Firelands Museum. She was the founder and first president of Town and Country Garden Club, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was a member of Firelands Historical Society.

Grace is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Patrick L. and Barbara Spino of Norwalk, and by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Timothy Shenigo of Sandusky. She also is survived by her grandson, Ross Spino; stepgrandchildren, Ryan Shoop, Timothy Shenigo, Corrie Shenigo and Reid Shoop; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mary Schmidt of Sandusky, Jeri Malone of Sandusky, Bertha Correll of Melmore and Norma Flechtner of Tiffin.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Spino in 1988; three brothers, Lehman, Hugh and Glen Williams Jr.; and two sisters, Joyce Sowell and Dorothy Williams.

Friends may call Tuesday, March 5, 2013, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk. The Rev. Roger Harms will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Norwalk.
