Fannie A. Bess, 83, of Tiffin, died at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
Fannie was born March 28, 1929, in Tiffin, to George Robert and Sylvia Marie (Hall) Hepler.
Fannie is survived by her five children, Michael Norman (Diane) Hampshire, Thomas Patrick (Terri) Hampshire, John David Hampshire and Dawn Marie Currier, all of Tiffin, and Tracy Ann (Scott) Spaine of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Wanda (Marvin) Owen of Georgia and Shirley (Don) Thompson of Fremont.
Fannie retired from General Electric, Tiffin, after 33 years, where she had worked as a welder. She was a member of the Tiffin Eagles, Moose and the Lutheran Bell Choir. Fannie was a 1947 graduate of Melmore High School.
Fannie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bev Thompson.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Family of Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Brodbeck officiating. There will be no visitation or burial at this time. Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, Tiffin, is assisting the family with their arrangements.
