Jeanette Alice Hewett, 81, passed away Monday evening, March 4, 2013, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
She was born Dec. 13, 1931, in Lykens, daughter of the late Ellis Damon and Mabel Alice (Sorg) Miller. She married Marion Fredrick Hewett Dec. 5, 1950, and he preceded her in death Dec. 28, 1991.
Survivors include her five sons, Steven Wayne Hewett of Spring Green, Wis., Timothy Lee Hewett of Anaheim, Calif., Terry Allen (Barbara) Hewett of Bolton, Mass., and Daniel James (Laurie) Hewett and James Edward (Sandie) Hewett, both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Harold Miller of Bucyrus; a sister, Doris Clay of Columbus; many nieces and nephews; and five grandchildren, James, Campbell, Abigayle, Emma and David Hewett.
Jeanette was a graduate of Lykens High School and attended Heidelberg College, Tiffin. She and Marion lived for many years in Tiffin and then Fort Lauderdale, Fla., before returning to rural Upper Sandusky. She had recently been residing at The Westminster-Thurber Community, Columbus.
She had many friends and enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed knitting, baking and winning at euchre. She was very thankful for the assistance and care provided by her nieces, Donna, Diana and Vicki, in recent years.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, at the funeral home with the Rev. Brett Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Ritchie Cemetery, near Carey.
