Vivian M. Meyers, 85, of South Kansas Street, Green Springs, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Elmwood Healthcare Center at The Springs, Green Springs.
She was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Sandusky County, the daughter of Orlie O. and Elta M. (Hurdic) Cleveland. Vivian married Daniel V. Meyers July 5, 1986, in Lorain County, and he preceded her in death June 8, 2007.
She was a 1945 graduate of Green Springs High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at Chemi-Trol for 23 years. Vivian was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Green Springs, and past state president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was past president of the Big Ten and a trustee at the VFW Children's Home for six years.
Vivian is survived by her son, Gregory D. (Denise) Walters of Plymouth, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Dawn V. (Jack) Roberts of Florida; a brother, Richard S. Cleveland of Green Springs; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Louis M. Growel; second husband, Clifford L. Walters; son, Jerry N. Growel; and brother, Harold E. Cleveland.
Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today, March 9, 2013, at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs.
Her funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Green Springs Cemetery.
