PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Errors put Heidelberg behind early. Solid pitching, clutch hitting and errors let the Student Princes wipe that out.
Heidelberg tied the game with an unearned run in the fifth and powered off in the sixth, and three pitchers combined to allow just two hits Tuesday in a 5-1 victory.
Dennison (0-3) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Danny Kraus reached on a two-out error and, after another error and a passed ball, scored when Kyle Clemmenson hit into an infield error.

George Marisco reached on a two-out error, stole second and scored on Joe Staab's single.
Staab was then thrown out trying to steal, but a 1-2-3 inning put the Student Princes back at the plate and the offense continued to roll.
T.J. Harkness and Alex Grove both singled and Eric Monroe was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Steve Morse singled in a run, Ben Blystone's walk forced in another and, two outs later, Monroe scored on a passed ball for the Student Princes (8-2).
Heidelberg's pitching had settled in by then.
Starter Alex Zander fanned four over three innings and reliever Adam Manner (1-0) got the win by striking out seven and scattering two hits and a walk in five innings of work. Kyle Fluharty threw a 1-2-3 inning in the ninth.
