Betty June Harrison, 93, of Fostoria, died Monday afternoon, March 11, 2013, in Fostoria.
She was born May 11, 1919, in Jackson Township, to Ernest and Cecelia (Flechtner) Dicken. She married Royal J. Harrison March 29, 1942, in Bowling Green, and he survives in Fostoria.
Also surviving are a son, James R. (Patricia) Harrison of Fostoria; three grandchildren, Jeanette (Tim) Perkins, Julie (Matt) Varner and J.W. (Brett) Harrison; and five great-grandchildren, Drew and Trent Perkins and J.J., Jackson and Jaydon Varner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janet K. Schmidt; brother, Ernest Dicken; and two sisters, Nellie Bowman and Priscilla Good.
Betty was a homemaker and farm wife. She graduated in 1937 from Jackson High School. She was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, former Sunday school teacher and member of United Methodist Women. Betty loved gardening, crossword puzzles and was a huge OSU fan. She was the matriarch who loved her family very much and will be dearly missed by all.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, 301 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, with the Rev. Dan Phillips and the Rev. Russ Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Gardens, Arcadia.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
