A woman was transported by Life Flight to a Toledo hospital after the car she was driving struck a tree in Pleasant Township early Sunday morning.
Sgt. Don Pratt of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Helene S. Hahn, 19, of Clyde, was driving a 2004 Ford Escape westbound on TR 138 when she lost control. The vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Pratt said Hahn was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. She was conscious at the scene and was taken by Life Flight from the scene to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Pratt said.
Hahn was listed in serious condition at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Sunday evening, a hospital spokeswoman said. She had not been cited as of Sunday morning.
Pratt said there was a male passenger in the vehicle, but he did not know whether the passenger was injured.
