F. Lucille Butzier, 89, of Tiffin and formerly of Bettsville, passed away Saturday morning, March 16, 2013, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
She was born Sept. 30, 1923, to William and Florence (Turney) Cochran. She married Ellis C. Butzier May 4, 1942, in Napoleon, and he preceded her in death Jan. 15, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Jim (Kathy) Butzier of Powell; four daughters, Donna (Ron) Clingman of Fostoria, Karen (Gus) Hoffman of Huron, Deanna (Bill) LaLone of Tiffin and Cynthia (Rick) Trumbo of Britton, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; an infant daughter, Nancy Lee Butzier; five brothers, Harold, Bob, Earl, Turney and John Cochran; three sisters, Hazel Steinmetz, Helen Dicken and Kate Rodgers; and a grandson, Craig Michael Hoffman.
Lucille was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church for many years and a Sunday school teacher at the Methodist church in Kansas. She was the best cook, enjoyed gardening, and her children and grandchildren meant everything to her. Lucille's smile and hugs to everyone will be sadly missed.
The family would like to thank everyone at St. Francis Home and Elmwood at the Shawhan for their compassion and care and allowing Lucille to keep her cat, Callie, with her.
Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424, with the Rev. Donna Van Tress officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery, next to her husband.
Friends may visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
