Mary Catherine Jenot, 97, of Carey, died at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 27, 1915, in Alvada, daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Stark) Tiell. She married Carlton T. Jenot Oct. 27, 1938, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Frenchtown, by Father Brobst, and he preceded her in death May 17, 1981.
She is survived by her five children, Diane (David) Houser of Apalachian, N.Y., Roger (Judy) Jenot of Carey, Anita (White) Jenot of Marion, Carla Jenot of Findlay and Aidan (Carol) Jenot of Alvada; six grandchildren, Mark Houser, Anna Trausch, Brook White, Clark White, Nathan White and Amanda Jenot; and nine great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Carrie Houser; and three brothers, James, Gene and Leroy Tiell.
Mary Catherine was a homemaker. She was a cook for O.L.C. School, Retreat Center, Pilgrim House, Priest House and Shrine Cafeteria. She retired in 1997 after 34 years.
She was a member of The Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation Church, Carey, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
Her Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, with the Rev. Paul Faroh OFM Conv. officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey.
