ATTICA - Seneca East took control early and Jordan Bowerman helped at the plate and on the mound Monday as the Tigers walloped Buckeye Central 10-0 in their season-opener.
The game was a rematch of last year's district final, which Seneca East rallied to win 19-13.
Bowerman scored twice and doubled for Seneca East, which led 5-0 after the first inning and 9-0 after the second.
The senior also fanned four and scattered three hits and two walks in the five-inning game.
Adam Bauman added two runs, a double and a single, Mason McWilliams scored twice and singled twice, Darin Baldosser lined two singles and Dalton Wise chased in two runs with two singles.
Eric Hanes doubled to key the Bucks (1-2). Adam McGinnis (0-1) took the loss.

UPPER SANDUSKY - No Ram could hit anything other than a single against Kenton, but it was easily enough to pull off an 11-5 victory.
Alex Kenner, Cameron Nbinau and Kolin Johnson each lined two singles while Ross Dible, Tristian Reichelderfer, Andre Myers, Sam Plott and Trey Clark each tallied a single each in Upper Sandusky's win.
Alec Oney picked up the win (1-0) for the Rams (1-2), marking the first Ram win of the season.
VAN BUREN - Van Buren pushed across an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh Monday to clip Old Fort, 6-5.
The game-winner was the second rally for the Black Knights (1-0).
Old Fort scored single runs in the top of the second, third and fourth innings, but Van Buren pounded out five in the bottom of the third.
The Stockaders (0-1) countered with two runs in the fifth to inch ahead, setting the stage for Van Buren in the seventh.
Drew Conner singled twice and scored twice for the Black Knights, and Issac Sexton and Ross Adolph each singled twice. Adolph got the win in relief.
Cole Davidson suffered the loss in relief.
A.J. Phillimore doubled twice, scored and knocked in a run for the Stockaders. Davidson lined three singles.

GIBSONBURG - New Riegel jumped on top with four runs in the first inning, then pounded out nine more in the second Monday in a 16-3 whipping of Gibsonburg.
Brady Hall chased in three runs, scored twice and doubled for the Blue Jackets, Josh Nye had two RBIs, a run and double and Nick Wank doubled and scored.
Andrew Hohman and Jake Dryfuse both went 2 for 3 with three runs and an RBI, and Blaine Hughes and Austin Mathias each scored twice and singled.
Warriors can't catch Elgin
MARION - Andrew Loose went 4 for 5 and scored twice Monday for Mohawk, but the Warriors fell 11-9 to Marion Elgin.
John Riedel added a 3-for-5 day and a run for the Warriors, Mitch Brown doubled, singled and scored and Devon Fredritz singled twice and scored.
Wes Shaw took the loss for Mohawk.
Burst in second carries St. Mary
SANDUSKY - Sandusky St. Mary snapped a scoreless tie with five runs in the second and had three pitchers combine to strike out 11 Monday in a 7-1 win over Calvert.
Kyle Feyedelem went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs for the Panthers. Lucas Will added two singles, a run and RBI.
Brett St. Clair struck out eight over 5 1/3 innings to get the win.
Jacob Zimmerman's single and RBI paced the Senecas. Losing pitcher Eric Elchert (1-1) and Austin Prenzlin both singled, and Matt Iannantuono scored.
