KANSAS - Lakota raced out to an early 3-0 led over Fostoria, only to see the Redmen rally to tie it in the top of the fifth. But the Raiders responded with one in the bottom of the fifth and two in the sixth to stake claim to a 6-3 victory.
Morgan Gangwer was the driving force for Lakota, striking out seven while allowing just four hits to pick up the win in the circle. She also had three base hits and the lone RBI for Lakota.
The Raiders took advantage of five Fostoria errors in the game.
Alaina Bickford added a pair of hits for the Raiders, including a double. She also scored three runs. Aspen Ray added a double and two runs.
Erica Moore and Ashlyn Roberts each singled, stole two bases and scored. Alexus Smith also stole a pair and scored.
Gibsonburg boots H-L
BASCOM - Four Hopewell-Loudon players each had two hits Monday, but Gibsonburg still drilled the Chieftains 16-4.
Abby Park doubled and singled for H-L (1-5), and losing pitcher Aubrey Affholder, Racquel Hossler and Lauren Trumpler each singled twice.
Tornadoes remain win(d)less
CLYDE - Columbian could only manage three hits due mainly to the pitching of Chelsea Zerman, in a 4-0 loss against Clyde.
Zerman, who had a double and batted in a runner, struck out 10 and only allowed one walk.
Clyde scored twice in the first inning and twice in the third in the victory.
Mercedes Runion, Sierra Shope and Bre Coffman all had hits for Columbian (0-5).
Paige Correll (0-5) suffered the loss.
TC turns back Bobcats
BETTSVILLE - Toledo Christian held off Bettsville 15-11 Monday, dropping the Bobcats to 0-3.
The Bobcats trailed 6-5 after the third and 9-8 after the fourth, but could never take the lead.
Maranda Bisson, Kaitlyn Dymond and Erin Smalley each drove in two runs and singled twice for Bettsville. Dymond also scored twice. Taylor Traut added a single and three runs and Abby Orwig lined three singles.
Melissa Harrison took the loss.
