Jeff "Tree" Tyree peacefully left this life of pain surrounded by his children at 5:13 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013.
The loves of Jeff's life were his children and grandchild. He gave his heart unconditionally to all he met. Jeff was always glad to give the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his pocket. He will be remembered as an avid rock n' roll fan and someone who loved his Harley. Jeff could often be seen on his way to the fishing hole with his Pittsburgh Steelers jersey flying in the wind. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians and NASCAR's Bobby Labonte.
Jeff was a painter, completing numerous residential and commercial projects over the years. He was also a member of Local 575 Laborers Union, speaking proudly of the many jobs he worked on. His true vocational passion in life was making pizzas, starting as a teenager working at Reino's and Fort Ball, both in Tiffin, and Village Pizza in North Baltimore. Jeff graduated from Columbian, attended The University of Toledo and earned a state-tested nursing assistant certification from Owens Community College.
Jeff was born Feb. 4, 1962, in Tiffin, to Jack and Cathie (Birch) McCrate.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Maria Aller; son, Robert Pelton; granddaughter, Alena Pelton; mother, Cathie Tyree; sister, Melinda Tyree; two brothers, Tim (Debi) and Greg (Shirley); and special friend and companion, Rhonda Krupp.
He was preceded in death by his father, John McCrate, and stepfather, Robert Ray Tyree.
A memorial celebration of life will be 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Tiffin Eagles Club, 68 Riverside Drive. Burial will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to The Open Door Ministry, Toledo.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Manor at Perrysburg and its wonderful staff for their kindness, compassion and outstanding professionalism while Jeff was in their care.
