In observance of National Mobility Awareness Month, a wheelchair-accessible van is to be given away in an online contest. Aaron and Renee Huffman, originally of Tiffin, are making an appeal for votes in hopes of winning the van for their 6-year-old daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Huffman. Sarah suffers from Pitt Hopkins syndrome and she is a cancer survivor. The family now lives in the Dayton suburb of Englewood.
The National Mobility Awareness Month website has thumbnail sketches of hundreds of people who hope to win a wheelchair-accessible van. The field of hopefuls will be narrowed according to online votes. Interested parties may go online to www.mobilityawarenessmonth.
