Councilman pleads no contest

April 26, 2013
dsp The Advertiser-Tribune

A Tiffin councilman was ordered to pay a $250 fine after he pleaded no contest to persistent disorderly conduct this morning. Tyler J. Shuff, 27, of Tiffin, who serves as an at-large councilman, also was sentenced to 30 days in jail on the fourth-degree misdemeanor, but the jail time was suspended on the condition he has no criminal conduct for one year. Charges of menacing and disorderly conduct were dismissed at Shuff's cost. Shuff had been issued the charges after police responded to his apartment in February for the report of loud music and he allegedly would not answer the door. Court documents also state Shuff allegedly threatened the neighbor who reported the loud music.
