Eugene P. "Mac" McClellan, 85, of Tiffin, died at 6:46 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at his residence.
Eugene was born Nov. 2, 1927, in Tiffin, to Eugene and Thelma (Sauber) McClellan. He married Lucille (Ruggiero) Nov. 12, 1955, in Tiffin, and she survives.
Survivors also include his children, Russell Logsdon of Tiffin, Ronald Logsdon of Stone Mountain, Ga., Bryan (Deana) McClellan of Republic, Stephanie (Adams) Engle of Tiffin and Pamela (David) Wise of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, Alicia, Veronica, Clarissa, Tricia, Timothy, Arielle, Abby, Jessica, Nichole and Andrew; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Eugene was retired from Webster Manufacturing where he worked as a molder for 45 years. Eugene was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, and a 1945 graduate of Calvert High School. Eugene enjoyed gardening, walking and was an animal lover. He always thought about everyone else before he thought of himself. Eugene was also a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Robert McClellan.
His Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, with military honors being rendered by the United Veterans Council.
There will be visitation for family and friends 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
