Competitive walleye anglers are to converge on Lake Erie at Port Clinton June 13-15 as Cabela's National Walleye Tour continues its inaugural season.
Featuring a pro-am format, the new tournament circuit includes three regular-season events with a year-end championship.
The Port Clinton event begins 2-4 p.m. Thursday with tournament registration at the Performing Arts Center, 821 Jefferson St., Port Clinton, with a mandatory pre-tournament meeting set to start at 5 p.m.
Pro and co-angler pairings are to be announced at the pre-tournament meeting.
Anglers are to launch at safe light from West Harbor County Launch and return to Waterworks Park, Port Clintom, for weigh-ins starting at 3 p.m. each day.
Anglers participating in any of the numerous contingency prize programs are encouraged to submit information before the event to remain eligible for bonus money.
Each NWT tournament features more than 100 percent payback. A fully rigged Ranger Boat, plus cash, is guaranteed for first place at each event, representing a total value of $57,000.
