Bonnie J. Purnell, 88, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, June 8, 2013, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Indiana County, Pa., to Paul and Roxie (Stiver) Sutter.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth (Leah) Purnell of Oceanside, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Purnell; a brother, Donald Sutter; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Purnell; a daughter, Cheryl Mong; four brothers, George, Paul, Henry and Wayne Sutter; and four sisters, Bessie McHenry, Cathryn States, Gayle Anderson and Esther McHenry.
Bonnie graduated in 1944 from Coventry High School, Portage Lakes, and was a member of Tiffin First Church of the Nazarene; where she was very active. She worked as a nurse's aide for St. Francis Rehabilitation, Green Springs, and was active at Kiwanis Manor where she was crowned "queen of the manor." Bonnie always was pleasant and cared for others.
Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Autumnwood Care Center chapel with Pastor Hugh McElroy officiating.
Burial was private at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.
Friends may visit with the family 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel.
