Patricia S. Wittibslager, 76, of Galion, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Magnolia Terrace in Galion after failing health.
Born July 2, 1936, in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Williams) Coughlin. She was preceded in death Jan. 15, 1993, by her husband, John R. Wittibslager, whom she married Nov. 20, 1955.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1954 and attended Christ United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. Pat was the executive director of the Galion Chapter of the American Red Cross for many years. She taught Red Cross swimming lessons, and managed and served as a lifeguard at Heise Park Pool. She was most passionate about her family and loved Galion and everything about it.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Dave Stark of Tiffin; one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Tracie Wittibslager of Galion; five grandchildren, Miranda (Gabe) Monk, Abbie (Chad) Phelps, Megan (Brian) Campbell, Rob (Jessica) Jarvis and Katie (Steve) Monroe; and eight great-grandchildren, Haley, Adyson, Seth, Liam, Kylie, Madelyn, Hannah and Wyatt.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion, where her funeral will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
