Robert J. Troxell, 88, of Fremont, passed away peacefully Father's Day, June 16, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 18, 1924, in Tiffin, to Joseph and Viola (Shauan) Troxell. He graduated from Columbian High School in 1942 and he was a brick mason with Local 46 BAC, Fremont, retiring in 1986. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard in the South Pacific and Philippine Islands on Coast Guard Cutter 83328 from 1942-1946. He married Jeanne (Kuhn) Sept. 10, 1949, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin.
Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanne; three daughters, Cheryl (Dave) Miller and Ann (Alan) Schabel, both of Fremont, and Chris (John) Borer of Romeo, Mich.; four grandchildren, Bradley Schabel, Ryan (Dee) Schabel, David (Mandi) Miller and Ty Miller, all of Fremont; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Ashley and Ruby Schabel, Megan and Matthew Kuyken and Sydney Miller; a brother, Ronnie (Sharon) Troxell; a sister, Norma Bushkuhl; and sister-in-law, Shar Troxell, all of Tiffin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rose Windau and Patricia Ranker; and a brother, Paul Troxell.
His memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Road, Fremont, with Fr. Kenneth Lill officiating.
