William E. ‘Bill’ Cline

William E. "Bill" Cline, 89, of Fostoria, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

He was born June 15, 1924, in Shelby, to Wayne and Edna (Fisher) Cline.

He married Geraldine "Geri" Riggs June 11, 1948, in Gilboa, and she survives.

He also is survived by three sons, Dennis (Kathleen) and Daniel, both of Fostoria, and David of Kalamazoo, Mich.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Dorothy (Harold) Breisacher, Kathleen (Harry) Cramer, Mary (Philip) Eyre and Wilma Cline.

He enlisted in the U.S. Merchant Marines and then was drafted into the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy during World War II as radioman first class on the USS LSM 66 in the Pacific Theatre from 1944-1946.

Memorial visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with Dean Durant and Pat Danner officiating. The United Veterans of Fostoria will provide military honors.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon, at a later date.

Memorial contributions are requested to Ronald MacDonald House, American Diabetes Association or Bridge Hospice, Findlay.
