dsp The Advertiser-Tribune

Randy Lee Moomaw, 61, of Bloomville, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.

He was born July 28, 1951, in Willard, to Robert R. and Anna Lee (Sager) Moomaw.

Randy is survived by his father, Robert R. Moomaw of Bloomville; a sister, Vicki Moomaw of Findlay; a brother, Steve (Helena) Moomaw of Tiffin; and special nieces and nephews, Andrea Moomaw of Eastlake, Jessica (Chris) Gammell of Solon and Lee Moomaw of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Lee Moomaw, June 19, 2002.

He worked at National Machinery Co. in Tiffin for more than 40 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the 1969 final graduating class of Bloomville High School, a member of the St. Johns (Baseline) United Church of Christ-Bloomville, and a longtime member and past president of the Seneca County Cattlemen's Association. Randy's love of raising cattle started in high school FFA and was ended only by his battle with cancer. His greatest satisfaction came from seeing his nieces and nephew show beef cattle from his "cow/calf" operation, and there were many champion feeder calves and steers.

Randy's other interests included the Cleveland Indians, watching old TV westerns, the annual deer hunting ritual with his family, and yearly trips to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia for family reunions.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Cathy Wirth officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The National Machinery Quarter Century Club will have visitation at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
