Norma J. Murray, 82, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Fostoria, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013.
Norma worked at several hospitals in the Ohio area; as well as, in Pennsylvania and then assisted her husband, Dr. James A. Murray, in his medical office in Fostoria. Norma was a member of the Fostoria Hospital Auxiliary, a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Ohio, a member of First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, and a member of St. Andrews Golf Club, Punta Gorda. She was a champion golfer who won many tournaments. Norma was a very charitable person who liked to help people in need. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Scott K. of Punta Gorda and Stuart of Fostoria; two grandchildren, Shana Elizabeth Hancock and Dalton James Murray; and great-granddaughter, Ashton Murray.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Lindsay; and son, James Jr.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at The First Presbyterian Church, Fostoria, with the Rev. Beth Zuehlke officiating.
Memorial contributions are requested to The James A. Murray Family Memorial Scholarship Fund, remembering James Jr. and Lindsay, to enhance young adults pursuing medical professions the ability financially to do so.
