BUCYRUS - Ohio's inaugural demonstration of a new "Subsurfer" applicator and a new Nitrogen Potential Assessment Test for corn are highlighting Ohio State University's 2013 Manure Science Review Aug. 6 between Bucyrus and Marion.
The day features talks and field demonstrations on applying and managing manure, improving soil and crop yields and protecting water quality.
The event is 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hord Livestock farm south of Bucyrus. The nearest street address is 1961 SR 294, Marion.

At 6:30 p.m. the same day, Crawford County OSU Extension and Crawford County Soil and Water Conservation District are planning a free evening field demonstration, which includes a tour and a discussion of cover crops.
Registration for the main program, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch, is $30 per person by Monday or $35 per person after Monday.
