John G. Bell

John G. Bell, 77, of rural Sycamore, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.

He was born Nov. 22, 1935, in Crawford County, to Charles Franklin and Mary Lucille (Gregg) Bell. He married Kay (Sloman) Bell March 31, 1956, and she survives.

Also surviving are two children, Valerie (Roger) Peiffer of Carey and Gregg B. (Tami) Bell of rural Sycamore; seven grandchildren, Brandon Peiffer, Erika (Bob) Fenner, Bryan Bell, Kaitlin Bell, Megan Bell, Hanna Burks and Kayla Burks; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Peiffer; and 10 brothers and sisters, Charles (Carole Keller) of Marysville, Mary Etta Hemmerly of Bowling Green, Robert (Luis Munozcano) Bell of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Lewis (Sylvia) Bell of Sycamore, Enza Fadley of Republic, Lester (Beulah) Bell of Sycamore, Lyn (Irene) Bell of Van Wert, Lyle (Sheila) Bell of Littleton, Colo., Sue (Duane) Durbin of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Mike (Sue) Bell of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul Bell, who died earlier this year.

John was a plumber/pipefitter working out of Local 50, Toledo, and also formerly co-owned J.F. Dible Co., Carey. John was a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church, a 1953 graduate of Sycamore High School, lifetime member of Rogers Lake, 35 plus year member of Mohawk Community Library Board, social member of Sycamore American Legion Post No. 250, member of Upper Sandusky Elks Lodge No. 83, member of Tiffin AMVETS, member of Fostoria United Sportsman, member of Pheasants Forever, member of Enterprise Lodge No. 579 F&A.M., Sycamore, DeMolay Commandery No. 9 Knights of Templar, Tiffin, Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio, Seneca Chapter No. 42, Tiffin, Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, Clinton Council 47, Zenobia Shriners, Perrysburg, Tiffin Shrine Club, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, Knight of the York Cross of Honor, and member and past patron of Warpolr Chapter No. 366, O.E.S.

John was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Indians fan. He used to raise harness racing horses and was an avid sportsman; especially, golf, where over his lifetime he had five holes-in-one. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

A funeral for John will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Rick Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at the funeral home, with a Masonic service beginning at 8 p.m.
