Tiffin Ohio Radio Control Modelers invites spectators to its annual Big Bird Fly-In, featuring model aircraft, this weekend at its flying site in Seneca County. The TORCM airfield is off East CR 38, about two miles east of North SR 101. Flying is to begin at 9:30 a.m. daily and continue into late afternoon.
Saturday, flying is open to large-scale models only. Many are powered by gasoline engines in excess of 50cc. Sunday, flying is open to model airplanes of all sizes. Food and refreshments are to be available on site. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Admission and parking are free.
TORCM members will be selling raffle tickets, with proceeds to benefit the Humane Society of Seneca County animal shelter. Also, TORCM plans to participate in a nationwide effort to support the Wounded Warrior Project in celebration of National Model Aviation Day Saturday by donating the proceeds of a separate raffle to that cause.
