Monroe Risner, 86, formerly of Adrian, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
He was born Nov. 13, 1926, to Ernie and Gracie (Hamlin) Risner.
April 4, 1951, he married Violet Ruth Orwick. She preceded him in death Feb. 2, 2004.
Surviving are his eight children, Robert K. (Becky) Risner of Sycamore, Sheila L. (Donald) Simon of Findlay, Brenda R. Risner of Carey, Duane E. (Annie) Risner of Berwick, Dwight E. (Pam) Risner of Carey, Pamela J. (Gary) Dyer of Sycamore, Rhonda R. Risner of Adrian and Rita M. (Bob) Shellhorn of Sycamore; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Roxy Bowling of Findlay and Ginny Caudill of Carey; and three brothers, Paul Risner of New Riegel, Terry Risner of Tiffin and Ernest Hoover of Upper Sandusky.
Monroe was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorena G. Gibson; four grandchildren; three brothers, Milo, Kenneth and Derry Risner; and one sister, Donna Jean Thaxton.
A private graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with the Rev. Larry Wagner officiating.
