Richard E. Brandt

Richard E. Brandt, 94, of Attica, died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.

He was born March 12, 1919, in Attica, to John and Della Rose (Gosche) Brandt. Mr. Brandt was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, and farmed in the Attica area.

Mr. Brandt was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica, the former Attica Eagles and American Legion Post No. 260. He enjoyed carpentry work and loved his trips to Hawaii after retiring from farming.

Mr. Brandt is survived by 10 nieces and a nephew, and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alfred and Marion Brandt; and two sisters, Irene Beamer and Ruth Holmer.

His Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Our Lady of Hope Church, Attica, with Father Paul A. Fahrbach officiating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, with military services being provided by the American Legion.

Friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin St., Attica, with the rosary prayed at 7:45 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Attica EMS, AVR fire department or Stein Hospice through the funeral home.
