Others: Juniors Taylor Kline, Kiley Siegel. Sophomore Kensy Siegel. Freshmen Katie Arnold; Lizzie Erlanger; Grace Portentoso; Lauren Shaver and Keely Hoover.

Outlook: Seven runners, including five tournament runners, graduated from last year's MAL championship and regional qualifying team.

Jones will lean on the experience he does have coming back to carry the team, especially in the early part of the season.

"Two runners from the regional qualifying team, Leah Reinhart and Morgan Brant, return this season, so their experience should be a plus," Jones said. "Leah Reinhart came off a strong track season, put in a lot of summer miles and should be our leader on the course."

With only 12 on the roster, including five freshmen, numbers are an issue for Jones. But he likes the potential they have, once they gain experience running varsity races.

"I don't know that we will be real strong at the beginning of the year, but hopefully as the freshmen gain some 5K experience, we will be at our peak when the league meet and tournaments roll around," he said. "This is the smallest team we have had in a number of years, but they are a very good group to coach and work very hard. They seem very excited about the season."
