Outlook: Two years removed from an appearance in the state tournament, Mohawk still has a number of the players who made that run possible.

But Hoover said that doesn't guarantee anything. And while the coach said high expectations always are a part of his teams, there are question marks about this squad.

"It's hard to say," Hoover said about what he's expects this year. "We have high expectations for ourselves every year, but we lost a lot of experience and a lot of talent.

"Every night I don't think there's anybody we can't beat, but we know there's a lot we have to do because there's a lot of teams that can beat us, too."

Mohawk brings back the Adelsperger trio, McClain and Flood. So far, Hoover said any issues have little to do with talent.

"It's not really a skill thing as it is an attitude thing," Hoover said. "They have to have more fun. One of our strong suits is our defense. They put a little too much pressure on ourselves. We're not gonna play perfectly. We've got to move on from our mistakes."
