Outlook: The Rams would like to finish their short stint in the NCC by bettering their respective fifth-place finishes from last year. ?The boys bring back seven letterwinners to aid in that goal.

"We should be one of the top teams," he said. "Galion had a really good team last year and they lost some of their guys. ... I'd like to win the league or be right there."

Speaking of strong, Arnold's girls team is impressive.

"This is one of the strongest teams we've had for a few years. We have all but one back from last year plus we had some nice freshmen show up," Arnold said. "Our girls are very even. We had four girls last year that were the top runner in some races and some of the freshmen this year might be right with them.

"I'm not sure who our top runner is going to be in any one race right now and that's a good thing in cross country," he said.

That group will be led by the senior letterwinners Massara and Rowe, as the pair bring leadership to the squad.

Arnold said the girls side of the league will be tough to pick, but he expects his squad to be in the top half.
