BLOOMVILLE - Resident Larry Kelbley proposed to council members Wednesday evening holding a co-ed Texas shoot-out one pitch tournament at the village ballfield Oct. 4-6. Prizes are to be awarded to the best-dressed male and female player as well as best-dressed team.
He hopes to have 16 teams involved and discussed the possibility of the Ball Association working the concession stand. They discussed future family activities for the community.
In Street Superintendent Rick Dentinger's absence, council was uncertain if the lights would be working at the field at that time as they are to be repaired. A decision to move forward with the event is to be made at the next meeting.
Dentinger's report included locating the leak at the swimming pool in a return line.
Kelbley questioned increased use of the former school property for a larger 'Party in the Park'.
Mayor Steve George informed council of a meeting at the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center Wednesday to receive an update on the county health assessment and the strategic emergency plan.
He also said the new Lions' club sign would be erected soon.
Clerk/treasurer Janis Weasner told council a Corvette rally has plans to make a stop in Bloomville at the ice cream stand on SR 19 and Bliss Memorial Library will hold its Halloween carnival at the firehouse this year.

Heard the second reading of a resolution accepting the amounts and rates as determined by the budget commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the county auditor.
